Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion 550-100 Desktop PC and it does not boot after the Win10 creator's update. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
The evidence indicates that the operating system may have got corrupted. I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Please perform the steps mentioned under "Restore your computer when Windows cannot start normally" from this HP article. This will not delete our data. It will attempt to restore the PC to an earlier date when everything worked fine.
If the issue persists then you may perform a Microsoft Push Button Reset. This repairs your computer by reinstalling the operating system. This can be done either while preserving your personal data and customizations, or removing all your personal data.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Please let me know how it goes. Cheers! 🙂

Hi,
The Microsoft System Restore and the Microsoft Push Button Reset are inbuilt features of the Windows 10 operating system. Looks like the Windows 10 operating system is corrupt on your computer and that is why these options are unavailable.
Also, the recovery partition is not accessible when you hit the f11 key.
Before we conclude this issue, I suggest you to run the hard drive test on your computer. The following steps will help:
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
-
On the main menu, click Component Tests.
Figure : Selecting Component Tests from the main menu
-
The Component Tests menu displays. Your Component Tests menu might be different, depending on the components installed on your computer.
Figure : Sample list of Component Tests
-
Hard Drive/Storage Tests - There are six hard drive tests, and they can take from 10 minutes to 2 hours or more to complete. To run the hard drive tests, follow the steps in Hard Drive Tests.
If the hard test fails then please contact our HP phone support team to check the available service options for your laptop. If the hard drive test passes then you may reinstall the Windows operating system to have your laptop in a normal condition. If you have not created the recovery media for this laptop then you can obtain the recovery media through our HP phone support.
Hope this helps. All the best! 🙂

Hard drive test passed. So probably I have corrupted system or boot windows files on SSD disk.
I have start up Windows disk and i Can reinstall WINDOWS, as new Windows from this DVD,

Hi,
If you're reinstalling Windows using a retail version of the Win10 disk then you need to contact Microsoft to obtain a product key to activate it.
Secondly, if you're using the HP recovery media (contains the original factory image of Windows) then you do not have to activate it. During the installation, Windows will be activated by itself. If you do not have the recovery media for your PC then you could contact our HP phone support team to obtain a copy of it. Also, would like to inform you that on all HP computers you have an option to create the recovery media (USB/DVDs). Because in situations like these, the recovery media will help in reinstalling Windows.
Hope this helps. Let me know. Cheers! 🙂

What is HP recovery media?
I created recovery disk on another computer, I started from this disk , then I installed Windows to drive 😧
During installation boot problem was converted by installation from error 0x0000001 to error 0x000000e.
i started Windows from drive 😧
repairec BCD file on drive C: by renaming it to old. And creating new BCD file with dual boot options.
after this I was manage to start from disk C:\ and Windows error dissapear.
so Windows fixed, but it seems after this manipulations, I am not able create Recovery Disk anymore for original Windows.
I want reinstall / reset it completely to make sure i have no more damaged files.
How can I find Windows activation key?

HI,
The DVDs or USB drive which contains the factory image of the original operating system is the also known as the recovery media. This recovery media can be created by you or you can contact HP phone support to obtain a copy.
Please note that recovery media created on one computer will not work on another computer. The recovery media is computer specific.
NOw, either you need to have a copy of the original operating system that came with this PC. If you haven't created the recovery media then you need to call HP phone support and obtain a copy of it. But you cannot use a copy of Windows from another computer on this PC and activate it.
Hope this helps. Cheers!
