Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Are you using Avast?

This (Link) suggest Avast or some other security software may be causing the problem. Please read all posts in this thread.

You could have OS corruption. Run a Check Disk (Link).

Something else could be causing this problem. The complexity of Windows creates a troubleshooting nightmare when things don't work correctly.

You might want to look at an alternative ways to create reliable OS image backups and bootable recovery media.

I use Macrium Reflect free (Link).

Regards

Thank you for the response.  Not using AVAST on my desktop pc.  I am using Winzip Malware Protector.  Would that have the same issues?

Hi Spunky123,

I can't say for sure.

It (Winzip) could cause a problem if this backup problem started after installing this security software.

You're very welcome.

I don't know if this is the solution to your backup problem.
