how to lock fn

have HP Pavilion 595-p0084 with wireless keyboard want to use f1-f12 without pressing FN key. don't see option in bios, tried pressing caps lock with fn also left shift with fn didn't work

Here's a link to all the shortcuts to use the Fn key on a wireless desktop keyboard: Click here as I'm afraid usage of Fn lock may not apply to devices used with desktops, the Fn lock only works when used on notebooks as an external keyboard.

This is the reason the Fn lock settings do not appear in BIOS either.

i have HP Pavilion 595-p0084 Serial number: i sent in messge to you  Product number:  3LA58AA I have tried the caps lock with FN it made no change. If i look at manual on HP website it states multimedia feature may be startup in msconfig i didn't find anything related to function. see below If i look in bios i only find num lock

Stop startup applications (such as messaging software and multimedia applications) from loading.
1. Type msconfig in the taskbar search box, and then select System Configuration.
NOTE: If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or
provide confirmation.
2. From the General tab, select Selective startup.
3. Select the Startup tab, and then select Open Task Manager.
4. Select the startup items that you want to prevent from loading, and then select Apply. NOTE:
If you are unsure about an item, do not disable it.
5. If prompted, select Restart to restart the computer.
NOTE: To enable a program to load at startup, restart the computer and reverse these steps.

@vjr3 As I mentioned earlier Fn lock feature is for laptops and cannot be used for consumer desktops, what works on some commercial products is long pressing the function key, if that doesn't work, I'm afraid it's just not an option!
