  1. my internal hard desk drive was brokendown, so I replaced it with a new one, and I want to install the original windows (witch was windows 7) on the laptop, but when I checked the microsoft website to check my my widows product key, they give my this massege:(The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.)  I was trying to reach the software recovery options but I couldn't reach it.
  2. my plan was is to install windows 7 and then upgrade it to 10 without any problem or requesting any avtivation key

Did you upgrade to Windows 10 before the HDD failure ?

1. If yes then you don't need to reinstall Windows 7 and then upgrade to Windows 10, you can install Windows 10 using the following steps.

     (a) Create Windows 10 installation media from the following source:

             https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10

     (b) Install Windows 10 from above media. During the installation process, it will ask to a key, please skip and continue.

     (c) After few reboots, Windows will activate itself because the key is already in the BIOS of your machine.

2. If no, you need to contact HP and order a Recovery set.
