Hello I have received an HP Envy 32 monitor for Christmas and have a HP G5370uk computer. The problem is my PC does not seem to have the correct ports to connect to the HP Envy monitor. It has no HDMI ports so I am at a loss what to do. My PC has the VGA cable - is there some kind of adaptor I can buy? Please help!!!

> Please could you talk me through the sound as I have none?
On the back of your computer, you have a socket with a GREEN ring.
Take the cable that came with your new monitor, and plug one end into that socket on the motherboard.
Plug the other end into the socket on your new monitor.
You may need to use the "Sound" application, within "Control Panel" (Windows 7) or "Settings" (Windows 10) to change the "default" sound-output device.
Or, do you already have speakers plugged-in to that GREEN socket on your motherboard?
Are those speakers turned-on? Is their own volume-control set to MAXIMUM?
On your computer, is your "sound" application (that speaker in the bottom right) MUTED, or not set to MAXIMUM level?

As I understand you want to connect your Envy 32 monitor to a VGA port on your PC,
Don't worry Lucy, The Riddle_Decipher is here to help!
This is your monitor's signal Input Connectors: (Click here)
• 1 HDMI
• 1 MHL
• 1 Display Port 1.2
• HDCP support ( DP/HDMI/MHL)
• 3.5 mm stereo line-in and headphone jack.
And you are right, there is an adapter/converter that you may utilize: Click here for details
This is how it looks (see image below):

@lucyofarrell, thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that the issue still persists after following the steps provided in the previous interaction.
This issue could occur if the drivers are not updated.
Please follow the link to download the software of the monitor: Software and Drivers
Let me know if this works.
I hope you have a good day ahead.

Hello
I am still not able to get my HP Envy 32 working with my PC.
I have bought a display adaptor and a HDMI adaptor but neither work and the HP Envy is still saying 'check video cable'. I set up the HP Envy Monitor with a laptop using the original HDMI cable and it works.
The problem must be with the adaptors, my PC or something I am doing wrong.
These are the adaptors I am using:

I am probably doing something stupid. Please help it's driving me mad.
🙂

From: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c02773898
the back of your computer looks like this:
So, you need a cable to connect to #5 or a different cable to connect to #12.
included with your purchase are: AC power cord, HDMI cable, DisplayPort cable, audio cable, VESA adapter, remote control
So, you need a special cable with a DVI connector (to connect to #12) at one end, and a HDMI connector at the other end, to connect to your monitor.
Example: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/startech-com-6-hdmi-to-dvi-d-video-cable-black/2780053.p?skuId=2780053
for under $10 USA.
Note that you will need to use the supplied audio-cable, connecting the "audio-out" from your computer to the "audio-in" on your monitor, if you want to use the speakers built-in to your monitor.
