Hi @CWeilert,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

This issue occurs because your HP OfficeJet 6110 printer is receiving unexpected network requests from a device or software attempting to query its status. Here's how you can stop it.

Check for Rogue Devices or Software

  • Identify the Source:
    • Determine if any device or software on your network (such as monitoring tools or apps) is sending HTTP requests to the printer.
    • Disconnect devices from the network one at a time and monitor if the issue persists.

Reconfigure Printer Settings

  • Disable SNMP or Status Monitoring:
    • Log in to the printer's embedded web server (EWS):
      1. Find the printer's IP address (usually visible on the printer or via the HP software).
      2. Enter the IP address in your web browser.
    • Look for settings related to SNMP, status monitoring, or logging and disable them.
  • Turn Off Usage Reporting:
    • Check for a "Usage Report" or "Status Report" feature in the printer’s settings and disable it if possible.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Outdated firmware might cause such issues. Update the printer's firmware:
    • Visit the HP Support website.
    • Search for your printer model and download the latest firmware.
    • Follow the instructions to install it.

Reset Printer to Default Settings

  • If the above steps don't work, reset the printer:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    2. Press and hold the # and 6 buttons.
    3. While holding these buttons, plug the printer back in and power it on.
    4. Release the buttons when the printer powers up.

Block the Printer from Receiving External HTTP Requests

  • Use your router’s firewall settings to block external devices from sending HTTP requests to the printer:
    • Log in to your router's admin page.
    • Find the printer's IP address and block it from external access.

Factory Reset the Printer

  • If the issue persists, a factory reset can clear any misconfigurations:
    • Access the printer’s menu and look for a factory reset option.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
