Hi @ducky855,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're seeing BIOS-related warnings for newer games and your HP PC has a motherboard labelled 89EB, it likely means your BIOS version is outdated and missing support for newer hardware instructions or firmware optimizations.

Here’s a safe and effective way to update your BIOS:

How to Update BIOS on an HP PC with an 89EB Motherboard
Option 1: Use HP Support Assistant (Recommended)

  1. Open HP Support Assistant from your Start menu.
  2. Go to the My devices tab.
  3. Click Updates.
  4. If a BIOS update is listed, check the box and click Download and Install.

Option 2: Manual BIOS Update

  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + S to open HP System Information.
  2. Note down:
    • Product name
    • Product number
    • Motherboard ID (ROM Family SSID)
    • BIOS version
    • Processor name
  3. Visit HP’s Official HP® Support.
  4. Enter your product number and download the latest BIOS update.
  5. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions carefully.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Do not power off your PC during the update.
  • Back up your data before proceeding, just in case.
  • If your PC is managed by an IT department, check with them first.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
