The sound stopped working after at first it was running anfter upgrade to Windows 7 from XP. Can anyone help?

Hi:

 

The only suggestion I can offer would be to install the Realtek AC-97 audio driver directly from Realtek.

 

Accept the agreement.

 

Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 1st file listed at the link below...

I did that before responding to this reply and it worked. The only thing is, it is not a legit windows on the machine so I let it do the upgrades that it would allow!! Thanks for your help. Now how do you accept the agreement?

Didn't you have to accept the agreement on the Realtek website before it let you download the audio file?

 

That is the agreement I was referring to.

I not had to use that one as it was on the comupter already. I will hit the "accepted" for you anyway.
