Hi @jada1357
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I am sorry for the inconvenience you are facing with your HP Pavilion touchscreen being disabled. I understand how disappointing it feels when a feature you rely on suddenly stops responding. I appreciate the effort you’ve already made in trying to get it working again.
Here are steps you can try to restore the touchscreen functionality on Windows:
Step 1: Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand “Human Interface Devices.”
- Look for “HID‑compliant touch screen.”
- If it is disabled, right‑click and select “Enable device.”
Step 2: Update Drivers
- In Device Manager, right‑click “HID‑compliant touch screen” and select “Update driver.”
- Choose “Search automatically for drivers.”
- You can also download the latest drivers for your Pavilion model from HP’s support page:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Step 3: Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Run the “Hardware and Devices” troubleshooter to detect and fix touchscreen issues.
Step 4: Calibrate the Touchscreen
- In the Windows search bar, type “Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.”
- Select “Calibrate” and follow the on‑screen instructions.
Step 5: Perform a Power Reset
- Shut down the laptop.
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the adapter and power on the laptop.
- Test the touchscreen again.
Step 6: Check Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Windows Update.
- Install any pending updates, as they may include fixes for touchscreen drivers.
These steps should help bring the touchscreen back to life and restore smooth interaction.
