Hi,
HP does not yet have any online documentation available for this PC.
There is no comprehensive user manual. You have to hunt HP's online resources for stuff.
There is no backup process specifically created to preserve the recovery partition. You can create recovery media from the recovery partition. You can use the recovery partition to reimage the system.
Please refer to this HP Support document on how to create a Recovery disc set or Recovery USB stick.
You can use third party backup software such as Macrium, or Acronis, or Paragon. You can also use the Windows backup software baked into the operating system and create a Recovery Drive.
