Hello all

I am considering updating to win7 and adding a second hard drive but while an attempt to do so I have found that only two of the four Sata ports actually work on my board 2820h.

These are already occupied by my 1st hard drive and DVD writer.

Is it a software/driver or hardware fault.

The device manager also shows just 2 sata storage controllers 2921 and 2926.

Any way to make the other two functional?

Thanks for the advice but I already had upto date chipset drivers and i have reinstalled them after your advice to be double sure but made no difference. Somewhere I read something about northbridge/southbridge controllers etcs being behind this sort of problem but being a semi-literate in this stuff, I don't know what else to try?
