Solved!

not getting windows updates

HP Recommended
hp 610 touchsmart
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

For some reason my computer hasn't received any microsoft window updates since 2017 and the majority of them failed.  I tried to manually load 10 updates today and 8 failed and only 2 were successful.

I have my settings to allow daily updates every morning at 3:00 AM.  I have no ideal what to do.

Can anyone help?

First of all, MS stopped support for Win7 months ago, so you should NOT be getting any updates anymore.

Second, there is no simple solution to this, as the general suggestion is to RESET Windows Update -- but if you do that, you are then going to be faced with days and days of updates, going into the HUNDREDS of individual updates.

Third, when Windows Updates fail, the history usually shows an error code and you can look up that code on the Internet to see what is recommended.  You can also use the Microsoft Update Catalog to obtain individual Windows Update files and try running them one at a time to see if that makes any difference.
