All in one?
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I guess the computer did a update I had pushed off while I was out of town. Got back, log in screen was on, logged in but it took forever. When it finally went to the screen where the desktop icons are, it’s just pause screen which bar bottom but doesn’t let me do anything and acts like it’s loading. I have done some of the Troubleshoot thing but nothing has helped so far. HELP!

Hi @Msto5

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the black screen issue.

Please try these steps -

1. Shut down the computer, then disconnect the power cord from the rear of the computer.
2. Press and hold down the power button for at least 10 seconds, then release it. The power light indicator might turn on briefly then go out.
3. Reconnect the power cord, then turn on the computer to confirm if the issue is resolved.

If the issue still persists, try these steps - HP PCs - Black or blank screen with blinking cursor after entering Windows password

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I tried all those steps along with a few more I found on others site. I took my computer into geek squad and they are looking at it. From what they told me when they powered it up when I dropped it off, is that it had a corrupted update on last update.
