Microsoft Windows Vista

So windows 7 is no longer going to be supported and I just want to use this desktop pc for creating word documents, google docs and a little email.  Can I just stick with Vista even though it is no longer supported.   I am told Windows 8 won't run on this system so assume that windows 10 definitely won't.

thanks from pc for dummies 101

Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Don't recommend using Vista or W7 online for anything as time goes by.

You could try to install W10. But I would use a second HDD or SSD to see what happens.

Using a different storage drive will allow you to go back to Vista by reinstalling the original HDD.

Regards

Windows 10 will run fine on this PC. Windows 10 has a much larger driver repository than Windows 8, so you won't need any official Windows 10 drivers from HP. Windows 10 will automatically load all the necessary drivers for you.

There's a slim chance that there's some hardware you may need to scour the internet for for drivers, but I reckon you'll be fine.

Stay with 7 before you go to Vista. Vista will have even more holes.
