I took a Ram stick out to take a picture of it in order to buy more ram. Unit was off but not unplugged. When reinstalled and started PC it will not boot up. It did not respond to changing Ram out or any of the many solutions I could find to try. Attempting to back up my data before completing a Recovery/Restore Windows 10 attempt. I am trying to save to a external hard drive but get error message after it backs up only 1% of the data "Recovery manager could not back up your files" What to do now?

<Sigh> Every time I read one of these Factory-Reset issues posts I cringe and continue to wonder why everyone seems to think a factory reset is a miracle cure when, in many cases, it only serves to make things worse!
If the PC is really SLOW, a factory reset will do NOTHING to fix that, and will most likely fail -- leaving you with an unusable PC. If a factory rest starts out OK and then halts part way through, that is nearly always an indication of a failing drive -- which is a hardware issue that a factory reset will do nothing to fix.
So, why are you trying to do a reset -- what problem are you trying to fix?
