I was advised to reinstall my OS, because of issues. I used Recovery Partion through HP Recovery Manager. I've had issues on the day of the reinstall (couple of blue screens with lots of writing, plus MS Updater problems).
1.Could the Recovery Partion be corrupted and cause the issues? I have recovery disks.
2. If I delete the (presumed corrupt) Recovery Partition, will a new Recovery Partition be re - created when I use the recovery disks?
3. I'm thinking that if I have recovery disks that I don't need a Recovery Partion. True? Or is Recovery Partition needed for Restore Points and SFC, etc?

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
When you do a factory restore from Recovery Media,that erases the entire drive and recreates the original partitions, including the Recovery partition.
But yes, if you restore from the disks, you really don't need the Recovery partition.
Good Luck

Wawood:
Thanks for the quick response and warm welcome, Wawood.
I will take from your response that recovery disks re-create the Recovery Partion ( in an un-corrupted state) and will also assume from your response, that the possibility of Recovery Partions to get corrupted is true and Recovery Partition is not needed for Restore Points or SFC.
Thanks again.
