I am trying to run WIN 7 (64 bit) My computer cycles on and off at the HP logo and never gets to Windows. I have tried unplugging the power and holding down the power button and pluggin back in. I have unplugged and replugged the fan power connections from the motherboard and still does not get past the HP logo. I can get to the boot sequence and BIOS settings screens and I even installed an SSD drive with WIN 10 and I can run this without issue if I point to the SSD drive in the boot sequence. I can even see the drive I would prefer to boot up from.
I prefer to run WIN 7 (64 bit) as all my programs reside there.

Disconnect the SSD -- you don't want it to be "visible" in the following.
Boot from a Windows Installation DVD (or USB memory-stick).
After answering a few questions (country, keyboard), instead of clicking "install", click "Repair my computer".

This suggests that your RAM and motherboard and power-supply and SSD device all are working fine.

I understand that your computer will not "boot" from the files on this disk-drive.
When booted from the SSD, can you access this disk-drive, and view the files/folders on this drive?
This seems to be a "software" issue -- somehow, the "boot" files on this drive are corrupted, and thus Windows fails to boot.
