i stood on my laptop and now its a bit bent and harder to open/close. Does this need to be repaired? if so, how much will it cost?

If the laptop now feels a little bent and the lid movement is stiffer or uneven while opening and closing, it would be best to have the device physically inspected at an authorized HP service center. A change in the frame shape or hinge movement can sometimes place extra pressure on nearby internal parts over time.
 

Since this involves accidental physical impact, it would not fall under the standard HP warranty coverage. The HP authorized store/service center will examine the laptop closely and then provide the available repair options along with the estimated charges based on the current condition and the parts affected.
 

Until the device is checked, we recommend opening and closing the lid gently and avoiding additional pressure on the system.
