How do I set up new PC for data transfer?

Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

You can backup data on the old PC to external media.

Then copy the data from the external drive to the new PC.

You can search for software that will move data, settings, and even installed programs.

You will have to pay for this software. I don't use this stuff so I have no idea how effective it is.

Laplink (Link) is an example of such software.

I am getting it from Best Buy and was told to set ( to avoid a charge ) and bring both in to transfer data. So that is why I need to know what is involved in getting it set up.

Hi,

I don't know what Best Buy requires in this situation.

Ask Best Buy what needs to be done to avoid charging you for the data transfer.

They are charging for the transfer, but to avoid an additional charge I have set it up for the data transfer,
