Hi, I received a computer from a family member yesterday, that was crawling. Super slow to boot up, taking 5 mins just to open up an app or to do anything.

Took HD out and scanned drive on another computer

Result: found 5 viruses and removed them

Placed HD back into system. Turn it on. Act like it wanted to boot (spinning wheel of dots)  but wind up booting to a black screen. Monitor went into pwr saving mode as if computer was shut off.

Tried to do a HP system restore.

First ran HP system restore. Went through both options (backup and no backup).

Result: Same as above. Boot to black screen.

Tried to do a Windows 10 restore.

Tried all options available. Fix, Restore point, and reset.

Result: Same as above. Boot to black screen.

Nothing seems to be working. I would love to just download the system restore disk and do everything from scratch. Is this possible? If not, what are my other options?
