Once you upgrade, you can't go back to Vista.

I would use a free disk imaging software such as Macrium Reflect, make a system image (save to a portable hard drive), and make the bootable rescue disk to access the system image as directed by the Macrium program.

Then if things don't work out, you can restore Vista using the system image you made.

I'm pretty sure things will work out fine on W7 though.

How you want to proceed is up to you.

You can do an inplace upgrade from Vista to W7 and save most of your files, programs, etc, or you can do a clean install.

Hi:

Looking at the product specs for that model, you should have no problem installing W7.

W7 should automatically install all of the drivers you need.

If not, you can get the W7 drivers from the individiual hardware component manufacturer's websites for the audio, graphics and ethernet.

The only thing that may not work is the multi card reader.  That is USB powered and has no drivers.

hi,

ths for reply!

  1. I don't well understand why the multi card reader may not work on w7, and what mean that is USB powered whitout drivers? I know that the pc not accept usb 3.0, because when I updated the generic  usb driver 3.0 from windows to broadcom, i must have to roll back to old driver for to use  my BT mouse and keyboard logitech. So I can't use this old driver also on win7?
  2. You think i can try better also for w8.1 or w10 in place of win 7?
  3. How you suggest to download new windows os for to activate windows whith my oem vista key activation?

You're very welcome.

There are no drivers for the card reader.

They are installed automatically by Windows.

I just don't know if the newer versions of Windows will have the built in drivers for the card reader or not.

There are no free upgrades to W7.  You will need to puchase W7 with a W7 product key from someplace.  Microsoft doesn't sell it anymore.

I don't know if W8.1 or W10 will work on that model.  Possibly so but I can't say.

Hi,

as I see that there are many doubts about the full success of the update, how can I make sure to make a risk-free roll back to current  solution?

Which backup / restore guide or easy tool can I use?

You suggest should I format the system partition and reinstall it from scratch or overwrite new os in update mode without format?
