I have downloaded and installed updated diagnostics from hp.com/go/techcenter/PCDiags but when I go to the run diagnostics page, I get the message my diagnostics are not up to date and the instruction to do what I did, i.e, download and install updated diagnostic tools. Why?

Hi @SKBTexas,

The "not up to date" message usually means an older copy of the diagnostics is still installed or is the one being launched.

  1. Uninstall every HP PC Hardware Diagnostics entry from Settings > Apps, restart, and install the latest version again.
  2. Launch it from the new Start menu shortcut, not from an old pinned icon.
  3. Or skip Windows completely: restart the PC, press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to run the UEFI diagnostics.
