Hello @catsears

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

You are using old desktop ...

There is only HP support for Windows 7 (64-bit) and Windows 8.1 (64-bit).

--->>> Software and drivers for HP ENVY Desktop - 750-055xt CTO

( Some Windows 8.1 drivers may still work with Windows 10, but this is not binding. )

Kind regards

so would it behoove me to go and update windows 7 pro to here even tho I updated to win 10? would that help or hinder the problems? especially with the wifi module and the BSOD (kernel security check thingy)

Hello @catsears

(1) Backup <all> personal data (documents/pictures/videos etc...) to external <USB hard drive>

(2) Please reinstall Windows 8.1 operating system

--->>> How to Clean Install Windows 8 or 8.1

(3Software and drivers for HP ENVY Desktop - 750-055xt CTO

(4) Done

Kind regards

appreciate your reply, but no to 8.1!  had win7 pro on here when I bought from HP and wont put 8.1 on it.   so should I put windows 7 Pro back on it instead of win10? what about the security features from win10 that were so much better (supposedly) than win7, only reason I went to 10 to begin with....loved win7 pro!  ps....I still have the win7 pro installation disks, I also love this computer and dont want the hassle nor cost of buying a newer one as long as I can keep thing one up and running.

thanks again

Hello @catsears

Well if you have fallen in love with Windows 7, then reinstall it.

Hi, @catsears

What model wifi adapter does your PC come with?

HP Recommended

there is a Intel dual band wireless AC 7260; microsoft wifi direct virtual adapter #3 and realtek PCIe GBE family controller, whatever that is

Interesting...I have the same model Intel 7260 AC wifi adapter in my HP 350 G1 notebook which I installed W11 on, and it works fine.  It also worked fine on W10 as well.

There is a driver that Intel released for that model wifi adapter which is newer than the one which is automatically installed by W10.  That's the one I've been using for the last couple of years.

Regarding our other discussion about the BSOD, did you install the W10 chipset driver for your PC's chipset?

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp87001-87500/sp87257.exe

Also, have you tried a fresh, clean installation of W10?

Sometimes that fixes issues such as what you are experiencing.

hi

your computer is indicated from around 2015 ..
There shouldn't be too much of a problem if you go through an update, not a full install, if still possible..
Only a few drivers might be needed
I had updated this one, older 2013, and for the most part I only have the original windows 7 or 8
https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-hpe-h9-1200-phoenix-desktop-pc-series/5...

You can possibly test this

Find your drivers. Analyze your PC and your blue screens.
