Hi @seantaylor2023,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Chromebook is repeatedly reverting back to the "Enter your email" screen when you're trying to sign in, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve it.
Check Your Internet Connection: Ensure that your Chromebook is connected to a stable internet connection. Sometimes, login issues can occur due to a poor or unstable network connection.
Restart Your Chromebook: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor glitches. Press and hold the power button until your Chromebook turns off, then turn it back on.
Clear Cookies and Cache: If your Chromebook is having trouble with the login page, clearing cookies and cache might help. Here's how to do it:
a. Open Chrome.
b. Click on the three dots in the top-right corner (menu).
c. Go to "Settings."
d. Scroll down and click on "Privacy and security."
e. Click on "Clear browsing data."
f. Select "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files."
g. Click on "Clear data."
Check Your Google Account: Ensure that your Google account is in good standing. You can try signing in on another device or in a different web browser to see if the issue persists.
Verify Your Google Account Credentials: Make sure you are entering the correct email address and password associated with your Google account. It's easy to make a typing mistake.
Caps Lock and Language Settings: Ensure that the Caps Lock key is not enabled while typing your password. Also, make sure the language settings on your keyboard are correct.
Try Guest Mode: Attempt to sign in using the "Guest mode" to see if the issue is specific to your account or a more general problem.
Powerwash Your Chromebook: If none of the above solutions work, you can perform a Powerwash (factory reset) on your Chromebook. This will erase all data on your device, so make sure to back up important files. Here's how to do it:
a. Click on the clock in the bottom-right corner.
b. Select the gear icon to open "Settings."
c. Scroll down and click on "Advanced."
d. Under "Reset settings," click on "Powerwash."
e. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your Chromebook.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
