Hello , I've been having an issue over the last couple of days trying to update my windows , I've spoken to Microsoft support advisors to help me with this problem and they thought it would be best to contact HP directly. I spoke to a one individual who advised me that HP have more support and to update my processor first so i can upgrade my windows 11. my windows is currently windows 10 1909 ? My desktop has been checking for updates and is trying to update windows 10 22H2 but its currently stuck on a certain percentage , I've been trying to reset, restart and the percentage still remains, I also also advised to share my screen with Microsoft support to help fix the issue but quick assist will not load due to also needing updating , its not just this app but many others as well. The computer wont update any apps until the latest update is complete. I've followed steps given by Microsoft through live chat and I've been deleting files , downloading files (ISO) , following steps via emails and its not solving any thing. Could you please help me solve this issue as my desktop is causing everything to now not function correctly. If any more information is required i can send that other in a separate post/email.
thank you for your time ,
Mia.

Hi @Mia5002,
Thank you for the response.
Try these steps:
Ensure Your System Requirements
Before upgrading to Windows 11, make sure your system meets the hardware requirements specified by Microsoft for Windows 11. Windows 11 requires certain hardware features, including a TPM version 2.0, a DirectX 12 compatible graphics card, and more.
Steps to Update Windows
Run Windows Update:
- Ensure you are connected to the internet.
- Click on the Start Menu, then click on Settings.
- Select Update & Security.
- Click on Check for updates. Windows should start checking for any available updates.
- If updates are found, click on Install updates. You might need to restart your computer after the updates are installed. Repeat this process until it indicates your device is up to date.
Use HP Support Assistant:
- HP Support Assistant might have drivers and updates prior to them being available on Windows Update.
- Launch HP Support Assistant from the Start Menu or the taskbar if it has been launched before.
- On the support page, navigate to the Updates section, and check for available updates.
Update Drivers via Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start Menu and select Device Manager.
- Expand the categories and right-click on your drivers (e.g., processors, display adapters) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Processor Upgrade
If you were advised to upgrade your processor, ensure this is compatible with your desktop's motherboard and other hardware components. Upgrading hardware might be complicated and could void warranty or cause other issues if not done correctly. It's recommended to consult with an expert or consider professional service for hardware upgrades.
Troubleshooting Common Update Issues
- Disk Space: Ensure you have enough free disk space to install the updates.
- System Files: Use the built-in tool System File Checker to repair corrupt files.
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
- Software Conflicts: Disable or uninstall third-party software that might interfere with Windows Update.
I hope this helps.
