I found this HP TouchSmart 520- PC in the trash brought it home got it running and it came up to the lock screen How do you reset it to factory reset so I can just start the computer so it will start windows 7 reset

Without the password, you can't do a factory reset as it will prompt for that.

 

As far as I know, the only other HP solution, the Cloud Recovery Tool, does not support Win7, so it will not work.

 

There are others here that may provide some other alternatives, but I do not know of any.
