@Charli07, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If the numeric keys on your HP 230 wireless keyboard aren't functioning, there are several steps you can follow to address the issue:

Check Connection:

  • Ensure the wireless USB receiver is securely connected to the computer.
  • Re-synchronize the keyboard and receiver:
    • Remove the USB receiver and then reconnect it to the computer.
    • Press the connect button on the receiver until the light flashes.
    • Press the connect button on the underside of the keyboard until the receiver light stops flashing.

Battery Check:

  • Verify that the keyboard has sufficient battery power. Replace the batteries if necessary.

Num Lock Key:

  • Ensure the Num Lock key is not affecting the top row. Pressing the Num Lock key again might resolve any issues if unintended activation has occurred.

Keyboard Settings:

  • Check if any custom settings have been applied to your keyboard that might affect certain keys:
    • Access the keyboard settings via the Control Panel:
      • Click on the Windows Start Button.
      • Navigate to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound (if present) > Keyboard.

System Settings:

  • Ensure that your keyboard input settings correspond to your keyboard layout:
    • Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language.
    • Choose the appropriate language that matches your keyboard's layout.

Driver Update:

  • Ensure that the keyboard drivers are up to date. You can manually check for driver updates through Device Manager:
    • Right-click on the Windows Start Button.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand the Keyboard section, right-click your keyboard, and select Update driver.

Restart Computer:

  • Sometimes a simple restart of your computer can resolve unresponsive hardware issues.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
