HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF PC / System SKU VS742UA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Even though my desktop is an older model, it's still functioning pretty well but I'm sure that the functionality would probably be improved at least somewhat if I could obtain an updated bios. Currently this is the bios version that's installed on my desktop:

BIOS Version/Date Hewlett-Packard 786G2 v02.03, 10/19/2015 . I would think there would HAVE to be a somewhat newer version available by now, I'm going to include as much information as possible so hopefully someone might be able to help me obtain a newer bios version.

System Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard, System Model HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF PC, System Type x64-based PC, System SKU VS742UA#ABA ,  Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz, 3000 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s), BIOS Mode Legacy, BaseBoard Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard , BaseBoard Product 3048h .

Thanks in advance for any assistance that I might receive.

David

Yes, most likely PC companies do things different ways and have different policies.

HP's policy is that any PC made prior to August 2013 will not have support for W10 regarding driver, software, BIOS updates, etc.

You can see that info at the link below...

Your 6000 Pro was released to market in 2009, I believe.

How old is your Lenovo PC?

Is it also from 2009 and does it have W10 support?

Hi, David:

v02.03 is still the latest BIOS update for your PC.

You can check for newer editions by periodically looking at your PC's support page under the W7 driver section.

Should there ever be a newer BIOS release issued, use the F10 Setup flash method, not the Windows flash method to update the BIOS.

Hi Paul,

To me that seems rather strange that a newer bios version isn't available yet for my computer. I guess different companies do thing's differently than HP does. I have a lenovo laptop that's also running windows 10 pro / 64-bit edition, and lenovo is a LOT more forthcoming as far as updated software & driver's go.
