Hi,

I am trying to automate BIOS updates silently, and HP Image Assistant seemed to be a solution, but now after executing the program and rebooting the desktop, the system cannot find some BIOS Update binary files. According to line 3 of the output, the files should be placed in EFI\HP\DEVFW, but this folder is empty. The disks configuration is unchanged, I just booted WinPE without installing anything. There is also a BiosUpdate folder created the same time, but that is also empty.

These are the last lines of HP image Assistant.log:

Which path the system does not have access to?

Thanks

Hi @lxrose

try to download directly from this link, double click on the file and then follow the steps below

Hi Resistencia,

I think it is the same executable as HP Image Assistant downloads. I tried to download and extract only then run "HpFirmwareUpdRec64.exe -s" from a script, but after reboot the same error appears. Automating the latest BIOS firmware update is a must in this case.

Thanks for your reply.

and if you do not extract it and just double click on the file... what happens ?

I didn't try it. It seems that we need to wait longer for the reboot to happen in the script. I thought that by the time my script exits, the update tool also finished its job. I added a longer timeout to wait for the automatic reboot to happen.

It may help for those, who also want to automate latest BIOS updates in the future.

Thanks for your replies.
