Microsoft is helping me troubleshoot issues in my computer and found that my BIOS is not updated (2023) when there is already a 2024. He is adamant to update the BIOS and told me to contact HP to update it to avoid any issues. I am trying to contact HP but it seems I do not have access to a real person and only directed to Community Support and Virtual Assistant.

Is there a way for a real person in HP to update my BIOS?

Getting Real-Time Assistance for HP BIOS Update

If you're looking to update your HP laptop or desktop BIOS and wish to speak with a real person for guidance, here are some steps you can take:

  1. HP Customer Support:

    • Visit the HP Support Contact page and enter your product details to access available support options, including phone support if available in your region.
    • You can also use the "Chat with HP" option to connect with a live agent if a phone representative is unavailable.
  2. HP Support Assistant:

    • Utilize the HP Support Assistant software pre-installed on many HP devices. It provides easy access to updates and can sometimes connect you to live support.
    • If it’s not installed, you can download it from HP Support Assistant.
  3. Community Support Forums:

    • While you prefer direct assistance, participating in the HP Community Support Forums might lead to expert community members providing reliable guidance.
  4. Authorized Service Centers:

    • Locate an HP authorized service center near you where professional technicians can assist with the BIOS update and ensure it's applied correctly.

It's important to ensure that when you do perform a BIOS update, you do so according to the instructions provided by HP to prevent any potential issues. Be sure to save your work and have a power source connected during the BIOS update.

If you're still facing difficulty, you might also check if any regional regulations or time differences may affect support hours.

Thank you for taking time to reply after few months. Microsoft has been helpful but I have found another way to solve my problem. I just hope that BIOS update will not kick me another ways. I just made up my mind - not to buy HP next time due to lack of immediate Customer support. I remember Dell was more reliable in the old days. I hope they still are.  Do you have another recommendation?

Hello BIOS57,

Thank you for posting your concern,

I'm here to assist with any HP product support you might need. While I can understand your frustration, HP does offer various resources for immediate support, such as online chat, support forums, and a customer care center that can provide assistance. However, I do not have the ability to recommend products from other companies like Dell.

If you have any further issues or need help with your HP device, please feel free to ask. I'm here to help with any HP-related questions or concerns.
