Hi Jusuf1,

You're very welcome.

I don't think you have the option to install a previous BIOS version now. You could try this, but this action may create more problems. You don't want to corrupt the BIOS.

The new BIOS update is probably affecting your PC's CPU performance.

HP has released 2018 BIOS updates which include code to mitigate the effect of disclosed 2017 side channel attacks on Intel and AMD CPUs. The 2018 BIOS updates reduced Windows 7 and Windows 10 performance. Microsoft only fixed reduced performance on Windows 10.

HP's product support site is down at this time.  I can't check your PC's specifications. I am guessing you have an Intel Processor. AMD processors were also affected, but not to the degree of Intel processors.

Regards

Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

I don't think there is much you can do.

Newer BIOS versions may have microcode included to protect your PC from Meltdown and Spectre side channel attacks.

This code has been known to place a much greater performance hit on Windows 7 PCs versus Windows 10 PCs.
