HP Desktop PC M01-F1000i (8BX08AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi!

I had windows on my PC, but then I uninstalled it for Linux, and right now I want Windows back but when trying to reinstall it (usb, iso) is says that device drivers where not found. Trying to install them with a USB, I can't find the drivers for my computer model. There's only an HP cloud recovery file. Where can I find the drivers? Or how can I fix this?

Thanks in advance!

You're very welcome.

Below is the link to the exact model number/product specifications for your PC:

HP Desktop M01-F1875no PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

Your PC is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility:  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support

Since you have to use another PC to install the tool on, you will need to enter the product number for your PC to create the recovery media, which is:  366M4EA#UUW

Hi:

There are dozens of specific model numbers under the general PC M01-F1000i (8BX08AV) product number.

If your PC has an Intel 10th generation core processor, Windows should not need any special storage controller drivers to install on the hard drive.

Perhaps your PC is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.

What is the full product number of your PC?

Use this guide to find that information.

Hi! Thanks for the quick reply! On my PC, it only tells the ProdId, which is 366M4EA#UUW. I hope that this is the one.

Hi!

It doesn't find my USB, it's planning to install it on the C drive I suppose, since it's pointing to the fact that there's not enough space on the local hard drive (there's 16 GB). But my USB has 60 GB of free space, and it doesn't point to it? Why? Thanks!

Hi:

If you installed the cloud recovery tool on another PC and plugged in a 32 GB USB flash drive, you should be able to select that drive from the drop-down menu in the tool's window.

Other than that, the media creation process is automatic as long as you entered your PC's product number.

Going back to your original problem, I believe that the storage controller drivers that I zipped up and attached below will allow Windows to find the hard drive on a clean install of Windows.

Unzip the files to their folder.  Copy them to a USB flash drive.

Plug the flash drive into your notebook's USB port and when you get to the screen where Windows can't find any drives, click on the Load driver option, browse to the USB flash drive with the storage controller drivers, if you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Click Next, and hopefully Wndows will find the drive and install.
