HP Pavilion
Windows 11 Home 64-bit Version: 22621.1928
System board: 87D6 SMVB
System BIOS - F.32
Trying to upgrade bios through HP "Support Assistant" software fails due to lack of drive space, but fails to identify the location of the lack of space. The "C" drive has 156 GB free, of 476GB.  Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Please refer to the following as you will need to create a bootable USB flash

It would help if I knew your product ID or model.

HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-1337c

Product number: 1J7L1AA#ABA

Serial number: 2MO047218G

You are correct on the assumption of the downloaded bios (Version 35-SSID 87D6). A recommended (or at least available) update from "HP Support Assistant", {along with " Realtek RTL8xxx Series Bluetooth Driver for Microsoft Windows 10 (DCHU)"}

I have a usb boot drive from  2019, is it appropriate to reuse this drive or is a new usb drive necessary?

The link you provide only returns me to your reply

Sorry, what I meant with the link was for you to look at the following image

BeemerBiker_0-1688859153153.png

Was the above image what you saw when you ran the bios update?

Since you first posted about the 87D6 bios update another user has probably bricked their system trying the exact same bios.  It is suspicious that two users are flashing the same bios and both having problems.  Currently, I do not recommend the bios upgrade.  It is too much of a coincidence the bios update for 87d6 is failing

However, if you absolutely need to update the bios then you will need an 8gb flash drive and will have to follow the procedure listed by that other user in that link I just posted.
