Hi, Windows 10 asks me to uninstall the HP drive encryption because it's incompatible with Win10 Anniversary update. Unfortunately, the option to disable encryption is gone in the HP Protect Tools Client Security Manger. It's simply not there anymore. I tried Dashboard -> Security Functions (see screenshot). It's just gonr for some reason.
Uninstalling the Client Security Manager did not work, it tells me to remove Drive Encryption first. Uninstalling Drive Encryption did not work, it tells me to disable encryption in HP Protect Tools Client Security Manager.
I already also tried a repair installation - it did not work either. I tried downloading and installing again: Setup failed with message that there's newer version already installed. Interestingly, the latest available version of HPClient Security manager for download on HP page is from October 2016, my version is from Dec 2017.
Also, my Notebook ist a EliteBook 1040 G3. On HP's support site they list the devices up to EliteBook 1040 G2 only.
Meanwhile I feel pretty much lost in HP's pretty crappy support sites.
Is there any other tool which allows me disabling this encryption?
Did I miss something?

I have a very similar problem, which I see has not really been resolved.
My Win 10 cannot update with version 1709. Right now this does not pose a problem. But I keep seeing the problem which I faced trying to fix this update: inability to update unless HP Drive Encryption is dissabled, which I cannot do, having gone through all the steps in Client Security.
Basically I cannot disable HP Drive Encryption, nor decrypt my C: drive. Hence I sense nor will I be able to update my Windows. And although not all updates are vital, some are.
Please advise!

I've had the same problem with a Zbook and tried to find a solution for more than a year. I am thinking about formatting my PC to get a fresh start without all the programs already installed that I never asked for, but I am not sure that it will solve the problem. If anyone tried this, I would be very interested in the outcome.
Of course, a solution provided by HP to solve this problem without formatting would be more than welcome !
