I replied several times to the emails requesting S/N, P/N, purchase date, etc to register care pack. It never showed up in HP assistant and I was told it would once the original year expired. Expiration date was 10 May, and now shows out of warranty. When I try to do the "Check warranty" to dispute it, it comes up and says I need to enter a real serial number. I am entering the serial number that is on the computer!

I understand that you are unable to update the warranty status.
Do not worry. I would suggets you contact our phone support with invoice copy. They will update you.
Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.
1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
