I have a p2-1310 HP processor

I am trying to load a program using a disc in the DVD drive but nothing happens when inserted

Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

Either the disc is bad or the drive is in trouble.

 

Restart the PC. Try the disc again.

 

Try a different disc to see if the drive reads this disc.

1. Try another disc. Does it read?

2. Do you have a DVD drive icon in explorer / my computer?

3. Do you have a bootable CD/DVD (such as a Windows installation disc) Try booting off of the disc by tapping F9 when you turn the PC on. This will determine if it's a hardware issue or a Windows issue.

4. If you think it's the optical disc drive, then you can either purchase another internal one, or a USB external one.
