I'm trying to install Linux in a triple-boot setup on an HP Pavilion Desktop, but my question isn't really about Linux. I've found lots of advice, but much of it includes the suggestion of disabling Secure Boot and Fast Boot in the BIOS. I found the setting for Secure Boot easily enough. But how can I disable Fast Boot in BIOS? Or can I?
I think ACPI might also be involved somehow, since I have to turn off ACPI (with acpi=off) in the boot command.

hi
see my answer here
the fast boot option is normally before the bios, just in case we can't get into the configuration because of a too fast boot

To disable Fast Startup, press the Windows Key + R to bring up the Run dialog, type powercfg.cpl and hit Enter. The Power Options window should appear. Click "Choose what the power buttons do" from the column on the left.
Scroll down to "Shutdown settings" and uncheck the box for "Turn on fast startup".
Click the "Save changes" button to apply the changes.
Regards,
John
