I need to download Microsoft Office for an assignment due in three days. The university I attend ostensibly makes the program availabe to all students, we need only "install" it. Every time I try to install Microsoft, I receive a notification that I need to free up drive space. I have tried deleting what I think are unnecessary, space-consuming files. This has made no difference. I'd like to know where I can go to see about how much/what I should to delete to be able to install Microsoft Office.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

You've provided us no detailed information either about your PC model or the OS you are running.

So, I have to guess you are running Win10 -- and here are some hints to free up space:

http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-clean-up-winsxs-folder-in-windows-10/

Once these are gone, you have a lot more free space in the C: drive.
