I have a problem with a driver on my HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-1134, Serial number: [Personal Information Removed], Product number: 13Z31AA#ABA
Windows Security tells me:
"A driver cannot be loaded on this device.
HpPortlox64.sys
A security setting is detecting this as a vulnerable driver and blocking it from loading"
I contacted Microsoft support and after more than an hour, they tell me that they cannot find and therefore cannot delete, this driver. Microsoft recommended that I contact HP to solve this problem. Can you help with this? Please contact me at [Personal Information Removed] or 901-606-6161.
Thank you.

Hello. Probably this is a security issue by HP.
Microsoft enable the list in windows what is contain a vulnerable drivers list.
Your options:
1. Try to choose other / latest , not vulnerable driver to install.
2. Disable this list in wondows to allow install vulnerable, unsecure drivers. (AT YOUR OWN RISK)
Try the following microsoft documentation:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/topic/kb5020779-the-vulnerable-driver-blocklist-after-the-octobe...
I hope I could help!

I went to the HP web site, downloaded, and re-installed all the recommended drivers. I went to the HP web site you recommended. Neither of these things helped. I still see the error message each time I start my computer.
Problem: the problem driver is "HpPortlox64.sys". What device or function is this driver for? If I know what to update, I might be able to fix this or I might just delete it. Please let me know what I should do next. Thank you.

Hi @MilusC,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error message "A driver cannot be loaded on this device. HpPortlox64.sys" indicates that there is an issue with the HpPortlox64.sys driver on your HP ENVY desktop computer. This driver is responsible for managing the communication between the computer and certain HP devices, such as printers and scanners.
To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:
- Restart your computer: Sometimes, simply restarting your computer can fix the issue.
- Update or reinstall the driver: You can try updating or reinstalling the HpPortlox64.sys driver. To do this, go to the HP website and download the latest version of the driver for your computer model.
- Check for malware: Malware infections can sometimes cause driver issues. Run a virus scan on your computer using your preferred antivirus software.
- Perform a system restore: If the issue occurred recently, you can try using System Restore to restore your computer to a previous state where the driver was working correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Please tell me exactly how to do this. I have been to the HP support website and either I do not know what to look for or there is no update.
