Screenshot firewall.pngScreenshot firewall 2.png"HP Support Assistant" is showing a message in my "messages" section that says,

"Windows firewall is not enabled Improve your security by enabling firewall"

I have got several of these messages, every time my firewall is up and running. Why do they insist on sending me this FALSE alert?

Hi @Macguyver419

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try these steps -

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for HP Support Assistant.
3) Right click to uninstall.
4) Restart the computer.
5) Install the HP Support Assistant from this link.

Also, try updating the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

No Cudos. Certainly NOT a solution. Uninstall? Yes, I will. HP is sending "scare ads" to sell a product. LOOK at the screen shot. Notice 2 things that support my statement. 1) the message header says firewall not enabled. Totally a scare tactic, as every time I get this message my firewall is running. (see 2nd screenshot) 2) link to purchase firewall software in body of message.  That's how I KNOW this message was INTENTIONAL. What good is re-installing going to do besides erase the current "scare ad" message. It will be back as long as HP continues this SHADY practice. I say HP sucks at writing software because 2 nights ago I discovered SolutionFinder.exe, part of HP Support Assistant program, has been crashing every hour. I did uninstall HP Support Assistant, and now I don't have SolutionFinder.exe crashing in the back round any more. If you tried to provide a solution, you failed miserably. Which flip book full of generic answers did you reference?
