Hello, I need to update my drivers for my HD graphics display adapter. I believe I have the HD 2500 Graphics chipset, intel 3rd generation i3-3220T cpu. I haven't used this computer in a while and when trying to play minecraft the game instantly crashes after a few seconds. I understand this is a problem with the old intel drivers and the new drivers fix this.. HOWEVER, since this is an HP desktop, the driver utilities won't allow me to install any new graphics drivers. Can you please advise how I could upgrade these drivers? They're over 4 years old and there's been lots of updates on Intel's side but zero updates on HP's side. I need to update my graphics drivers... Thanks.

Hi:

Yes, the graphics driver has the generic ID...PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0152

%iIVBGD0GT1%     = iIVBD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0152

So, that driver should work by selecting the second "Intel(R) HD Graphics" adapter you see on the list.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file...

;=====================================================================
;    Windows 7 Install
;=====================================================================
[IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.1]
%iIVBGD0%       = iIVBD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0162
%iIVBGM0%        = iIVBM_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0166
%iIVBGD0GT1%     = iIVBD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0152  This is yours
%iIVBGM0GT1%     = iIVBM_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_015
6

At the very bottom of the file, is the listing of Intel graphics adapters...

iIVBGD0       = "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000"
iIVBGM0       = "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000"
iIVBGD0SRV    = "Intel(R) HD Graphics"
iIVBGD0GT1    = "Intel(R) HD Graphics"    This is yours
iIVBGM0GT1    = "Intel(R) HD Graphics"
iIVBGD0SRVGT1  = "Intel(R) HD Graphics"
iVLVGMT0     = "Intel(R) HD Graphics"

@VincentPad

You have to use driver from HP and the site only supports the following Intel Graphics Driver:

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64086.exe

Regards.

Hi, @VincentPad :

This appears to be the latest driver that Intel has for your PC, correct?

Version: 15.33.43.4425 (Latest)

You may be able to manually update the driver as follows...

Download the 64 bit zip file and unzip it to its folder.  The last file down on the left.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25977/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?v=t

Then go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

Click on the Intel HD graphics adapter listed there.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk, and browse to the Intel graphics driver folder you unzipped>Graphics>igdlh64 setup information file, and see if the driver installs that way.

Then restart the PC.

I've tried that method but none of these versions have the drivers for the HD 2500 graphics chipset. They have the HD 4000 chipset and a few others but nothing for the 2500. Is the 4000 compatible with the 2500 chipset?

When I tried to install the HP drivers from the link Banhein provided, it goes through the process and then says the installation was not successful (259). It's as if nothing can update this driver...

Hi:

I explored the graphics driver setup information file, and you are correct...I do not see a specific description for the 2500.

The only way we are going to be able to figure this out, is if you post the hardware ID for your Intel graphics adapter, so I can see if it is supported by the latest Intel driver.   There were older drivers available, so maybe the driver is in one of those.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID...

It says the hardware ID is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0152&SUBSYS_2AFB103C&REV_09
