Hi,
i just bought myself a HP 960 4K Streaming-Webcam.. (i cant select the product because i cant registrer it.)
The setup instructions tell me:
"To configure your device, use the software. If the software does not download automatically, on your computer, open Microsoft Store or App Store. Search for HP Accessory Center, and then download the app."
Problem is now, the HP Accessory Center does not even recognize the cam, neither does the HP Web Product Detection.
I tried to contact support but thats not possible because the serial number on the packaging seems to be "not valid".
I cant even talk to a real person because it wont let me register the cam on my account.
My questions would be now:
Why does it say i need the HP Accesory Center on my computer when i cant download drivers for webcams?
Why cant i register the Webcam on this site? Wich hinders me from getting help for said problem.
and
The Webcam shows itself as an audio device on my pc(it does work like it should dont get me wrong), now i just wanted to ask wether this could be part of the problem.

Greetings! I just acquired this webcam a few days ago and ran into the same issue as you. I found out *today* after digging into HP's Support articles that they are transitioning their webcams away from using the HP Accessory Center to using their new Poly Lens app. To download it, just go to https://www.poly.com/us/en/products/services/cloud/poly-lens/app Poly is an official HP company and they are moving their webcam's and similar devices there (like headsets and such).
After installing the HP Poly Lens app, with the app opened I unplugged and replugged in my HP 960 4k webcam. The app detected it promptly and allowed me to make configuration changes. Also will support updating the camera's firmware as more features come out down the line.
I wish I had known about this days ago as it would of saved me hours of tremendous aggravation from trying to get the HP Accessory Center to recognize my cam.

Hi Very good find this post.
On my PC this worked for me. I'm also using Mac and would also like to use this camera.
When I plug it in it works but very basic only with a low res stream , no adjustments can be made. The Poly Lens software on Mac doesn't recognise it like the PC version is doing. Are there any plans in the future to support the HP 960 4k Camera in the Poly Lens software on Mac so we can make fully use of it ?

Also looking for information on support for Macs. The webcam's sales page lists MacOS as compatible, but none of the features work, and Poly Lens for Mac doesn't recognize it still. Way outside of return period so would just like to get this thing working better while I've got it.
