Product: HP Z240 Tower Workstation
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

When starting SDM and selecting the tab "Look for updates" it hangs for over an hour without resonding to  any user activity. When I look in Resource Manager I can see that the program has a lot of network activity and writes to two files, sp74537.iso and sp79915.iso.

 

When finished and I get control over it, I shutdown the SDM and then start it up again. When I select the tab "Look for updates" it start hanging again, the iso files are overwritten and then begin to grow in size.

 

- How do I do to stop this happening?

- Have I done something wrong in a previous run?

 

I know that I have previously selected an option to download rescue DVDs for Windows 7.

Is that the reason for this behaviour?

 

Any advice from you guys would be much appreciated ...

Do you fully understand the purpose in a business environment of the SMD download the the SSM distribution mode?

Here is the manual.  If your goal is a single computer updates, then use the standard updater.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
