First problem is that HP Support Assistant cannot find the HP EliteDisplay E221c monitor that is connected to my laptop. Very disappointing... Second problem is that when I try to add the monitor manually using the serial number and product ID from the back of the monitor HP Support Assistant does not accept the serial number and product ID. FYI serial number is [Personal Information Removed]and product ID is D9E49A. What do I have to do????

hi
do you have the latest version of the software?
I can't tell if the problem is with your monitor or if you're using a laptop.
I did the test, add a device, it will work automatically
Then detect devices, it works
I then tried with the serial number, it will also indicate a model
Afterwards, I don't see the point because no functionality seems associated, apart from the warranty information
I wanted to test your serial number, but for privacy reasons, it will be automatically deleted from the community
so tried, at least check your support assistant version to start
was this reply helpful , or just say thank you ? Click on the yes button

Welcome to the HP support community.
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
