I have not had much use for the HP Support Assistant, but had wondered why I had never received any updates. Last week, I did need it and tried to get it to check for updates. It replied that a serious error had oocurred and the program would be closed.
I then discovered that a new version was available, so I downloaded that and tried again to check for updates. This time I received 4 messages, so that problem seemed to be solved.
I needed to use the Support Assistant because I wanted to report a possible problem with Windows 10 drivers. To do that with the new version, you have to first register a profile to get a HP Passport. When I enter the necessary data and send it, I just get the reply there is a server problem, and I should try again later. I have tried several times over the past week, but with same reply each time.
Does anybody know how to get over this hurdle?

If this is your system:
then (based on what I can find on the Software and Driver Support page),
HP Support Assistant is not going to work as expected on your computer.
The Operating System has been migrated past the supported OS version.
That means: There are no HP Drivers listed for this system and Windows 10.

I paid a small fee and got to talk with HP Technical Support. They confirmed that HP are not supporting Windows 10 on this PC, so it's possible that some future WIndows 10 update will not work and, absolute worst case, make the PC unusable.
I've decided to take my chances and just carry on regardless (when it ain't broke, don't fix it) , and then decide what action to take when and if the worst case should occur. Thanks for your help.
