Are you sure about the model you have?

I think you have a 6305 Pro with the AMD processor and chipset.

The hardware ID you posted is for an AMD IOMMU device, which is not found on any HP PC with an Intel processor and chipset.

The 6300 Pro has the Intel processor and chipset.

If your PC has an amd processor, then you need this USB driver...

This package provides the AMD USB 3.0 Driver for supported computer models that are running a supported operating system.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72680.exe

If you used this driver to install the PCI device, try manually installing it.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58501-59000/sp58821.exe

The above driver file definitely shows driver support for that ID, as is evidenced by this partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file.

Hi:

You need this driver for the USB controllers.

This package provides the Intel USB 3.0 Driver for the supportedmodels running a supported operating system.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63720.exe

Please post the hardware ID for the PCI device that needs the driver.

Use this guide for how to find that information...

thanks fot the usb link, after installing I get the following message in a box

"the computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software"

on the PCI matter, I looked up some info on that using the link you sent, and installed something from HP but it doesnt seem to have worked

the last few things I have installed from the HP Drivers site just throw a box up afterwards saying "the software might not have installed correctly", and there is no obvious changes

I am not a PC newbie, and it was a fresh install of Win7pro this week over a new drive, I have installed HP PC's and Laptops before with no issues but this one is becoming irritating.

thanks

nder the "hardwareids" it shows the following

PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1419&SUBSYS_1850103C&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1419&SUBSYS_1850103C
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1419&CC_080600
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1419&CC_0806

I found a driver for the top one, but it didnt seem to change anything.

all sorted

on the PCI device I searched in the folder that was put into the SWSetup folder on C: and it installed, the USB issue has fixed itself at the same time so they must have been related.

many thanks!
