Is it possible to load an old operating system alongside windows 10, if so how do I do it. This was possible in widows XP , 2000 etc. by starting with relevant disc in drive having selected start from CD and system would ask if you wanted to create patrician cannot seem to access this on this computer with windows 10 64bit.

You did not state the other OS. Your making me assume WIN 7. Not a good idea, making me assume things.
Win 7 will cease support Jan 14 2020.
There are several ways to create this, either with a single drive or 2 separate drives.
