How to upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 11? Also, is it compatible with my HP Model #p022cy?

• I own a fairly new a 2014 HP Pavilion Intel Core i5.  My question is, can I update my Operating System from Windows 8 to the currently new one, Windows 11?   Also, would it be compatible with my PC upgrading into the New Operating System?   
• Would anyone please help me, since this PC was a gift from my mother when she past away in 2016 and I want to use it ones in a while, so the hardware will not break down for not turning it on for years.
