If the computer did not come with the software preloaded, this software is likely something you downloaded when you installed / downloaded other unrelated software.  Some companies do that - they "tag on" additional software when you download or use tools from their site.  It is a way to increase revenue - some websites just cannot resist the practice.

Fortunately, McAfee, although not wanted in this case, is not actually Malware - the software is sometimes harder to get rid of than one would think is necessary.

First Ask at the McAfee Source:

How to remove McAfee products from a PC running Windows

Site provides a contact option to get help.

How to uninstall McAfee

Both of these examples were found using a web browser and search for "Uninstall McAfee"

If you don't like either the the provided options, there are many articles on the net to assist.

Be careful, of course, and don't end up with even more unwanted software on your computer.

If you would like to try it - and I don't know that it's necessary in this case, consider:

From Microsoft >>

If software will not uninstall, appears to be removed and then shows up again, or is otherwise not “going away” when you tell it to do so, try an Uninstaller program.

Microsoft:  Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed
