Hello. I bought an all-in-one computer a few weeks ago. However, when I press the brightness and volume buttons on the keyboard, they do not adjust the volume and brightness. I also struggle with typing accents in foreing languages on my keyboard, because they don't give me the accents that I want, and also, when I am on Zoom, even though my camera is on, my screen is black and I cannot see myself. Please help.

Hi @Toni_Dee_4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing all the details. It sounds like you're facing multiple issues with your new HP All-in-One PC. Let's tackle each one step-by-step:

1. Brightness and Volume Keys Not Working

This is often due to missing or outdated HP Hotkey Support drivers.

🔧 Fix:

2. Accents Not Typing Correctly in Foreign Languages

This is usually a keyboard layout mismatch.

🔧 Fix:

  1. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region.
  2. Under Preferred languages, click your language → Options.
  3. Add or switch to the correct keyboard layout (e.g., US International, French AZERTY).
  4. Use Alt + key or Ctrl + key combinations for accents (depends on layout).

3. Zoom Camera Shows Black Screen

This could be due to:

  • Privacy shutter being closed
  • Camera driver issues
  • Zoom permissions

🔧 Fix:

  1. Check the physical camera shutter (slide it open if present).
  2. Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera → Ensure Zoom has access.
  3. Update camera drivers via HP Support Assistant or Device Manager.
  4. Test the camera in the Camera app to confirm it works outside Zoom.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello,

I jsut saw this message, so sorry for the late reply. I am trying to do what you have suggested. However, the camera doesn't work outside of Zoom, and I am also not sure of how to update the camera drivers in HP Support etc.

Hello, again. I just attempted the advice you gave me, and the instructions you gave re the camera, worked! Thank you! I had fixed the volume and brightness keys already by pressing the FN button whilst pressing them, so now, the only thing to figure out is how to type the foreign language accents in Word. I have tried what you had advised, but it didn't work. Am I supposed to see the French and Spanish keyboards while I am typing in Word?
